Question – Anna Júlia

Hi! Hope you have a great 2017.
My name’s Anna Júlia, I’m seventeen and I’m from Catalonia.
First of all I’d like to thank you for all the incredible work you’ve done and currently do. I feel like the world is so lucky for having someone as inspiring and wonderful as you.
I’m an art student in love with both painting and music, so I’m wondering how is that you ended up painting the cover for the third Dot Hacker album. I just saw it yesterday and completely fell in love with it! I would like to ask you how did you start painting, if it’s something you usually do, and how does it differ from expressing yourself through music.
I hope it all makes sense…

How I ended up painting the cover? I applied paint to paper. No, sorry, Haha. I didn’t make that with the intention of it being the cover of a record. I was experimenting with what real flowers looked like in different stages of decay when spray glue was applied. The flowers are showing three different stages of life/death. Art/whatever. It only existed like that for the moment when the photo was taken. Now both “real” flowers look quite dead. I used the image when I sent the final rough mixes to the fellas and they all liked it.
