New Year, Birthdays, Shows & Lakers

How is the new year going so far? Hopefully good and hopefully you celebrated Dot Hacker’s N°3 last month! The album is officially one year old!
Even though most of us are missing Mr. Klinghoffer being on tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, him and the guys have been staying quite busy. Bay Area’s Band Together 2 may have been their last show for 2017, but it surely was not the last time some of the band members have been on stage since then. Let us mention a few things they have been up to.
You may have caught Josh watching some Lakers games with Flea in sunny California. He and Flea were seen front-row and also photographed by Allen Berevzovsky watching the Los Angeles Lakers in action at the Staples Center on January third where unfortunately, his favorites lost against Oklahoma City Thunder.
In other news, Chad was part of an event in Seattle, Washington: “One Classy Night” this past February twelfth and was accompanied by Brandi Carlile, Mike McCready, Eddie Vedder, and Will Ferrel. We can clearly see how supportive he is of his bandmates’ events/projects as Josh surprised everyone with his presence at the event. This show in particular was for charity supporting Cancer for College. Several of the musicians including Josh got together and played several rock hits including Led Zepellin’s “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You”, Rolling Stones’ “Sway”, and Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus”.
While being on stage is a lot of fun for the guys, they also enjoy being around some fun people off stage, like Ellen Degeneres. She had many friends joining her to celebrate her 60th birthday this past February tenth. Among the attendees were Oprah, John Legend, Jennifer Anniston, Jennifer Lopez, Pink, Katy Perry, Alessia Cara and the list goes on and on. But Ellen knew the party would not be complete if she did not invite Anthony Kiedis and Josh Klinghoffer. Happy Birthday, Ellen!
Speaking of birthdays, Did you know the Red Hot Chili Peppers are celebrating 35 years as a band this year?! It is true. The band formed back in 1983 in Los Angeles and have continued strong all of these years. A special thank you and congrats to them. May they continue making great music for many years.
The guys need some fun and relaxing time before jumping on a plane to head out for some Lollapalooza shows in beautiful Argentina and gorgeous Brazil this March. Exciting!
