Inhibition 1st Anniversary!

00

Some really cool stuff that were sent to us by the Dot Hacker fans:

Nate Pottker sent to us a scan of the promo disc, the early version of “Inhibition” (2009), as you can see, the tracklist is different from the final version that was released in 2012. Nate also sent to us an amazing illustrated response made by him.

Ida Knudsen sent to us this picture and explains why:

“I’ve made a Draw of the lyrics by Order/Disorder. I think that the lyrics are inspiring and they make sense to me. That you feel like you have to do your best, and you might always have that pressure on you from other. And you feel that they always expect you to do more than you might actually can. And all that can end up with that you also puts alot of pressure on yourself.
And when I hear this song, it tells me to just stop for a minute and might calm Down. ”

"So... what’s the story behind “Order/Disorder”?JOSH KLINGHOFFER: That was a song born out of a rocking practice when we were writing. It wrote itself pretty easily. It’s a really fun song to play. Jonathan spent a lot of time making these really incredible syncopated bass parts in the chorus, and he hits one of his pedals and gets that backwards bass sound. There’s all of this subtlety going on in what seems like a rock anthem. I was thinking of Television when I wrote that riff at practice. We wrote it in on the spot. Lyrically, I always like playing with words. I like wordplay, dichotomies, and dualities. It’s a bit new for me to be the lyricist and singer in a band. A lot of the lyrics are about things seemingly orderly but really being a mess.
